This recipe uses the Vanilla Infused Jojoba Oil from a previous blog. Don't worry, if you don't have the infused Jojoba, you can use normal Jojoba Oil.
Body butters are a great way of moisturising your skin. This recipe uses Shea and Mango Butter which are both excellent emollients. Jojoba Oil has a similar composition to sebum, the naturally occurring oil produced by our skin, which means that Jojoba is easily absorbed and doesn't leave an oily feeling. The Vanilla Infused Jojoba Oil has a beautiful sweet aroma so there are no essential oils in this recipe.
30g Organic Refined Shea Butter #305
24g Mango Butter #304
5g Organic Cocoa Butter Drops #309 4ml
40g Vanilla Infused Organic Jojoba Oil (or ordinary Jojoba Oil #233)
1g Vitamin E #807
100g jar or pot
Electric Hand Whisk
Weigh out the butters and gently melt on a double boiler, (a heat safe bowl in a pan of simmering water). Once melted, remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Pour in the Jojoba and the Vitamin E and mix well. Pop in the fridge until the mixture firms up to a butter type consistency. This could take around half an hour. Now it is ready to whip. Use the electric hand whisk to whip the butter until you have a smooth, creamy consistency. Spoon the mixture into the jar and store in a cool dry place.
Use your beautifully fragrant body butter as an all over moisturiser after the bath or shower or as a hand cream.
