Get a Massage:

Massage is another great way to detox the body and get the lymphatic system working. When you go to get a massage you can get it tailored to your body’s needs, so if you have any problematic areas, let the therapist know and they can target key areas of the body to help soothe and eliminate pain or tension.

What types of massage are there?

  • Thai Yoga
  • Hot rocks
  • Swedish massage therapy
  • Aromatherapy massage
  • Deep Tissue massage
  • Shiatsu
  • Reflexology
  • Sports massage

These are just a handful of massages offered by massage therapists, so you just need to find a professional in your local area, see what they offer and have a chat with them to see what type will suit you and your body the best.

What are the benefits of a massage?

If you suffer with back pain, massage can often offer relief, enhance the immune system by stimulating the lymphatic system, strengthen weak muscles and help recover from injuries, ease stress and depression by helping your mind and body relax. Aromatherapy massages are especially effective and this is just the tip of the iceberg when discussing the benefits of massage.

Eat Clean, Eat organic:

Eating organic foods eliminates the amount of potentially harmful chemicals and pesticides that we put into our body blindly on a daily basis. Eating organic unprocessed foods can help lower the external chemicals that we consume, therefore allowing our bodies to be free from substances that could affect our hormones and health:

How to avoid GMOs in our food?

Find a local farm that produces organically grown vegetables. If you use the supermarket, look for the organic soil association standard organic produce logo, avoid ready and pre-packed meals and make your own: this way you can be certain of everything you and your family are eating.

What foods cleanse the body?

  • Artichokes – Liver Function
  • Asparagus – Anti-inflammatory
  • Avocados –Antioxidant
  • Beetroot – Removes Toxins
  • Broccoli – Liver Function
  • Cabbage - Liver Cleansing
  • Dandelions - Liver Cleansing
  • Garlic- Immune Booster
  • Ginger – Liver Function
  • Grapefruit – Fat burner
  • There are many more foods that can help to detox and cleanse the body but we will leave you with these for now. Basically, the more you can get in, the better. Just make sure that you don’t have any allergies to these foods beforehand and again, if you have any concerns you can always speak to a nutritionist to help you formulate a diet plan tailored to your body’s needs.

    Drink more:

Making sure your body is fully hydrated is one of the most important factors of detoxing and is also thought to help with weight loss by reducing appetite. Drinking a correct amount of water also helps to reduce wrinkles, promotes clear skin and bright eyes, prevents headaches or dizzy spells, supports the immune system, improves concentration and boosts energy levels. Water also helps the heart out by thinning the blood so the heart doesn’t have to work so hard pumping thick blood.

NHS recommends a daily intake of 1.6 litres of water for women and 2 litres for men.

    What to drink?

  • Thai Yoga
  • Hot water & lemon.
  • Herbal teas
  • Green tea
  • Fruit tea
  • Water
  • Green smoothies
  • Fruit infused water
