Mango Butter Beauty Recipes
Mango Butter is an excellent emollient, it is highly moisturising and is absorbed easily by the skin, making it a good choice for those with dry skin. It will leave your skin feeling soft, and hydrated. It will also help create a protective barrier to protect the skin from environmental elements. You can apply the butter directly to the skin as an intense moisturiser, as a nourishing hair mask and even include it in your own body care creations. Here are some ideas on how to use this amazing product we fell in love with.
Wash your hair as normal and towel dry. Whilst the hair is still damp take a pea sized chunk of mango butter into the palm of your hand and rub your hands together. The butter will melt to an oily consistency which you can then work through the dry ends of the hair. You should avoid applying the butter to the roots as this could make your hair and scalp greasy. Dry your hair normally, the mango butter will add softness and shine.
For something a little bit more adventurous, why not try to make your own mango butter and spearmint lip balm?
Put the Mango Butter, Beeswax and Coconut Oil in a heatproof bowl and gently melt. You can do this in the microwave or on a double boiler, which is a heatproof bowl on top of a pan of simmering water.
Once melted, remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Add the Apricot Kernel Oil, the Vitamin E and the Spearmint and stir well. Carefully pour the liquid into lip balm tins and allow to fully set.
