Guest Recipe from Ula Blocksage - Nourishing Facial Oil for Acne Prone Skin
Take a clean and disinfected jug / beaker and add all ingredients one by one starting with carrier oils, followed by essential oils. Stir the mixture well and then pour into a glass amber bottle. Choosing to store your facial oil in a dark bottle will help protect the product from sunlight, thus extending its estimated shelf life.
(You can indeed prolong the shelf life even further by adding some Vitamin E to your facial oil.)
Apply 3-4 drops to a freshly cleansed and toned face, morning and night. Firstly, warm the oil by rubbing your hands together and then apply it to your face, neck and very delicately around the contours of your eyes.
This facial oil is non comedogenic so is perfect for those of us with acne prone skin. It is highly moisturising and will help prevent spots, calm irritated skin, as well as provide some beautiful anti-aging qualities without clogging the pores.
Closely resembling sebum (the skins natural oil), this liquid wax soothes dry skin, is anti-inflammatory and has anti-bacterial properties.
Hemp Seed Oil:
A wonderful choice for acne prone skin, this oil helps balance sebum production and boasts high levels of linoleic acid, approximately 60%.
Prickly Pear Oil:
Contains high levels of Vitamin E, a great anti-aging agent which helps protect the skin, keep it elastic and is also great at fading acne scars.
Frankincense Essential Oil:
Loved for its anti-inflammatory properties that help to soothe angry, inflamed, acne prone skin. It is also said to help reduce the appearance of pores.
Helichrysum (Immortelle) Essential Oil:
An incredibly precious essential oil due to its highly antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties making it perfect to help ward of spots and soothe existing inflammation and irritation. It is also anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.
Blue Chamomile Essential Oil:
Boasting a myriad of wonderful properties blue chamomile is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, antibiotic a tonic and is highly relaxing and wonderful calming.
